Dorpsstraat 69 called Leeuwendijk was then owned by the reformed church in Loenen aan de Vecht and served as a residence for the minister. When the church council wanted to give the minister a more modern and comfortable home, part of the side yard of Leeuwendijk was split off and here the commission was given for the construction of this mansion. The commission was given to the architect H.A.J.F. Hissink and as builder was appointed construction company van Schaick from the neighboring village of Breukelen. (This builder is still active) So it arose that on the spot where previously the stable of the Leeuwendijk estate stood, there is not one but two majestic houses with between the two in the Sondaarpad, referring to the name of the then occupant (s) of the estate "Oud Over" which is on the other side of the river "De Vecht" is.
